Seribu Rahmat Concert to Unite Umbrella, Zamani and Floor 88 at UUM

SINTOK: Popular 1990s Malaysian band Umbrella is set to reconnect with fans through the Seribu Rahmat Concert scheduled to take place at Dewan Mu’adzam Shah, Universiti Utara Malaysia on June 6.

The concert will also feature special appearances by renowned singer Zamani and popular group Floor 88, which has a strong following among younger audiences.

The combination of artists from different musical generations is expected to attract a broad range of local music fans, especially listeners who appreciate classic ballads and contemporary music.

The event is organised by Pertubuhan Bahtera Prihatin Rakyat Perlis (PBPRP), which aims to bring large-scale entertainment experiences beyond Kuala Lumpur.

The selection of Kedah as the venue is also viewed as part of efforts to strengthen the creative industry in northern states while demonstrating that high-profile concerts are not limited to the capital city.

Umbrella vocalist Zarul Husin said the concert carries sentimental value because it marks the band’s first performance at UUM.

According to him, the connection with the university is especially unique as Umbrella’s bassist is also a staff member at the institution.

“This concert is very meaningful for us and we are excited to meet fans at UUM,” he said.

Zarul added that Umbrella would perform around 13 songs selected from the albums Seribu Rahmat and Hujan Panas.

He said the rehearsal sessions had also revived strong emotions and nostalgic memories because many of the songs had not been performed live for years.

Besides the musical performances, the concert will also feature artificial intelligence (AI) technology to create special visual presentations highlighting Umbrella’s musical journey.

Audiences will be treated to AI-generated flashback videos featuring archival footage and behind-the-scenes clips rarely shown publicly before.

Organisers believe the technology element will provide a fresh experience for concertgoers while combining nostalgia with modern innovation in a single performance.

Ticket prices start from RM50 for the Akulah Teduhanmu Zone, RM100 for the Bukalah Hatimu Zone and RM150 for the Ramalanku Benar Belaka Zone.
