PUTRAJAYA: Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) has allocated an initial RM100,000 to carry out repair works on the affected hall storage area at SMK Putrajaya Presint 14(1) following a fire incident yesterday.

According to the Jabatan Pendidikan Wilayah Persekutuan (JPWP), the allocation will be used for cleaning operations, preliminary repair works and the restoration of utility services disrupted by the incident.

The allocation was announced by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek after visiting the fire site last night.

JPWP stated that no injuries were reported in the incident and authorities are currently conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the fire.

“The affected area and surrounding sections have been immediately closed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the school community,” the statement said.

The fire, which occurred at around 6.10pm yesterday, involved a storage section behind the school hall covering an estimated area of 12 by 50 square feet.

Quick action by firefighters successfully prevented the blaze from spreading to other parts of the school building.
