
Anwar Spends Afternoon Tea Session With Tambun Chinese Community
IPOH: Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim spent nearly an hour attending an afternoon tea gathering with the Chinese community in Tambun during a casual engagement session held at Restoran KAB today.
Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Member of Parliament for Tambun, arrived at the venue at around 4pm and received a warm welcome from local residents.
He was accompanied by Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh.
Approximately 300 attendees comprising community representatives, local leaders, school officials and non-governmental organisations participated in the gathering.
In a relaxed atmosphere, the Prime Minister enjoyed various local refreshments including teh tarik, banana fritters, banana fritter cakes, soy milk and toast together with guests.
Throughout the session, Anwar Ibrahim spent time interacting directly with members of the public while listening to concerns and opinions on current issues.
Among the matters raised were the 200-litre RON95 quota under the Budi Madani (BUDI95) programme and the economic impact of ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
During the event, he also reminded community leaders to continue strengthening cooperation among different communities to preserve harmony and unity in Tambun.
According to him, national development must remain inclusive, with the welfare of Malaysians from all races and backgrounds continuing to receive proper attention.
