PAS, UMNO Youth and Ummah Submit Loyalty Memorandums to Sultan of Selangor

SHAH ALAM: Several organisations led by Dewan Pemuda PAS Selangor, Selangor PAS Youth leadership and Gerakan Pembela Ummah (Ummah) today gathered at Istana Bukit Kayangan to hand over memorandums expressing unwavering loyalty and support to Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

The memorandums were submitted as a gesture of appreciation for the Sultan’s leadership, particularly in matters involving the protection of Islam, preservation of harmony and safeguarding the stability of Selangor.

Selangor PAS Youth chief Mohamed Sukri Omar said the documents conveyed the people’s continued affection, respect and loyalty towards the ruler.

According to him, the organisations involved also expressed gratitude for the Sultan’s firmness in upholding the rule of law and ensuring peace and prosperity within the state.

“The memorandum reflects the people’s confidence in Tuanku’s wisdom and leadership in handling issues affecting the state and its people,” he told reporters after the gathering today.

The memorandums were officially handed over by Selangor PAS commissioner Ab. Halim Tamuri, Selangor UMNO Youth chief Mohd. Imran Tamrin and Ummah chairman Mohd. Zai Mustafa to the Sultan’s police aide Ahmad Rohisham Ahmad.

The submission ceremony was also attended by PAS Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden.

In the same event, Mohamed Sukri Omar urged Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari and Selangor State Assembly Speaker Lau Weng San to refer Seri Kembangan assemblyman Wong Siew Ki to the Rights and Privileges Committee.

He claimed the assemblyman should apologise to the Sultan and the people over actions allegedly seen as contradicting the royal decree.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Zai Mustafa claimed there appeared to be conflicting positions within the Selangor administration regarding the issue of pig farm development following the Sultan’s decree during the opening of the Selangor State Assembly last April.

He stressed that the people should prioritise and respect the Sultan’s decree in resolving the matter.
