Selangor Advances Salary Payments, Allocates RM66.25 Million Aidilfitri Incentives for Civil Servants

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 27 — The Selangor government has announced early salary payments and a special Aidilfitri incentive package worth RM66.25 million to assist civil servants in preparing for the upcoming festive season.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said 72,850 state civil servants will receive their salaries on March 13, earlier than the original payment date of March 16.

He said the move is intended to provide sufficient time for civil servants to make festive preparations with their families.

In addition to early salary payments, the state government will provide special financial incentives.

Each state civil servant will receive at least one month’s salary or a minimum payment of RM1,000.

Community leaders, including village heads, liaison officers, Indian community representatives, women supervisors, and youth activists, will receive a minimum of RM500.

Mosque personnel and Islamic religious teachers will also receive RM500.

The initiative also covers federal civil servants serving in Selangor.

This includes police officers, military personnel, firefighters, nurses, and teachers earning RM3,000 or below.

About 50,000 federal personnel will receive RM300 each.

The incentive payments are scheduled to begin on March 19.

Detailed guidelines will be issued to ensure smooth implementation.

Amirudin said the incentives reflect the state government’s appreciation for civil servants’ contributions.

He added that the initiative aims to motivate employees to continue delivering high-quality public service.

Registered journalists in Selangor will also receive special payments ranging from RM500 to RM1,000.

The payments will be distributed through the Menteri Besar’s office in collaboration with Yayasan MBI.

The state government hopes the initiative will ease financial burdens and help civil servants celebrate Aidilfitri more comfortably.
