Fatiya Latiff Accepts Career Changes Gracefully, Turns Focus Towards Business Growth

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Fatiya Latiff has revealed that she harbours no resentment over no longer being offered leading roles, saying she understands the realities of an entertainment industry where popularity and opportunities often fluctuate over time.

The actress shared that she was once contacted by a producer whom she initially believed was calling to discuss a new acting project.

However, the conversation took an unexpected turn when the producer informed her that she would no longer be considered for lead roles in future productions.

Speaking through a post on Threads, Fatiya, whose full name is Nur Fathia Abdul Latiff, said she accepted the situation with an open mind and viewed it as part of the natural cycle of an acting career.

“I once received a call from a producer and thought it was related to an acting opportunity. Instead, the purpose of the call was to tell me that I would no longer be cast in leading roles.

“I wasn’t upset because I understand how this industry works. When an actor is at the peak of popularity, many producers, television networks and brands want to collaborate with them. But when that spotlight fades, circumstances naturally change,” she explained.

The 39-year-old actress, who rose to prominence through the hit television drama Ariana Rose, said such experiences are common within the entertainment industry and can happen to any performer regardless of their achievements or career longevity.

According to Fatiya, artists must recognise that fame is temporary and that professional opportunities often shift in response to audience preferences, industry trends and market demands.

She added that the experience taught her not to depend entirely on acting opportunities and encouraged her to explore other avenues for personal and professional growth.

In recent years, she has increasingly shifted her attention towards entrepreneurship and the development of her own business ventures.

Fatiya said her current priority is building a sustainable business that can provide long-term opportunities beyond the entertainment sector.

Although the business remains relatively small at present, she remains optimistic about its future prospects and believes it has the potential to grow significantly with dedication and perseverance.

“At the moment, I’m not relying heavily on acting offers because I’m focusing on growing my own business.

“It may still be in its early stages, but I believe it can become something much bigger in the future. All I hope for is continued support and prayers from those who have followed my journey,” she said.

Her comments attracted supportive responses from fans, many of whom praised her maturity, resilience and positive outlook in facing the challenges that often accompany a career in the public spotlight.

Observers noted that Fatiya’s perspective reflects a growing trend among entertainers who are diversifying their careers by venturing into business and entrepreneurship as a way to create greater stability beyond the entertainment industry.
