MyJPJ’s Shift to MyDigital ID SSO Runs Smoothly, Strengthening Digital Access
CYBERJAYA, May 3 — The implementation of a Single Sign-On (SSO) system using MyDigital ID for the MyJPJ application, which took effect on May 1, 2026, has been reported to be operating smoothly without any technical disruptions.
In an official statement, MyDigital ID confirmed that the integration between its digital identity system and the MyJPJ platform remains stable and is functioning as intended, allowing users to access services more efficiently.
The move forms part of the government’s broader digital transformation agenda, aimed at improving accessibility, efficiency and security in public services. By introducing SSO, users now only need a single verified digital identity to log into multiple services, eliminating the need to manage numerous passwords.
This approach not only enhances user convenience but also significantly strengthens cybersecurity. By reducing reliance on multiple login credentials, the risks of account breaches, online fraud and identity misuse are substantially minimised.
Identity verification through MyDigital ID is linked to official government records, providing a higher level of trust compared to conventional login systems. This ensures that users can access services in a more secure digital environment.
To ensure seamless access, users are encouraged to download and activate the MyDigital ID application while keeping the MyJPJ app updated to the latest version. Version 5.0.1 of MyJPJ has been identified as fully compatible with the SSO integration.
Adoption rates have been encouraging, with approximately 7 million MyJPJ users already utilising MyDigital ID for login. Overall, the total number of MyDigital ID users has reached around 12 million, reflecting growing acceptance of digital identity solutions among Malaysians.
At the same time, MyDigital ID continues to work closely with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) to ensure that the system remains secure, stable and resilient against cyber threats.
These efforts include continuous monitoring and system improvements to maintain a seamless and reliable user experience.
As a national digital identity platform, MyDigital ID is designed to facilitate secure online identity verification without replacing MyKad as an official identification document. It supports integrated access to various government services and digital transactions.
The rollout of the SSO system is seen as a key milestone in accelerating Malaysia’s digitalisation efforts while enhancing the efficiency and security of public service delivery.
