ANCEL Expands Super Starter Portfolio with BS300 and BS400 for Larger Vehicles

MARIETTA, Georgia: Automotive technology specialist ANCEL has broadened its Super Starter lineup with the introduction of the BS300 and BS400, two new supercapacitor-powered starting systems designed for larger vehicles, including SUVs, pickup trucks and light commercial fleets.

The launch strengthens the company’s commitment to supercapacitor technology as a long-term alternative to conventional lithium-based jump starters while expanding coverage across a wider range of engine sizes and vehicle applications.

The latest additions build upon the success of the BS200, the first model in the BS Series, which gained traction among motorists for its permanently installed design, maintenance-free operation and ability to provide reliable engine starting assistance without the need for routine charging.

According to ANCEL, the strong market response to the BS200 demonstrated growing demand for smarter battery support systems capable of delivering dependable performance under real-world conditions.

The BS200 supports vehicles with engine capacities of up to 3.0 litres or 2.5-litre turbocharged configurations and includes battery health monitoring capabilities as well as stable operation in extreme temperatures.

Customer feedback from the BS200 programme played a significant role in shaping the development of the higher-capacity BS300 and BS400 models.

With the expanded lineup, ANCEL now offers a tiered range of products tailored to different vehicle categories. The BS200 delivers up to 700 amps of peak starting current, while the BS300 increases output to 1,000 amps and supports engines up to 3.5 litres or 3.0-litre turbocharged units.

At the top of the range, the BS400 provides up to 1,300 amps of peak starting current and is engineered to handle engines as large as 6.0 litres, making it suitable for larger SUVs, heavy-duty pickup trucks and light commercial vehicles.

The company said the structured product lineup enables customers to select a system based on their vehicle’s power requirements rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all solution.

Unlike traditional portable jump starters, the BS Series is built around supercapacitor technology, which rapidly stores energy from the vehicle’s battery and releases high-current assistance when starting conditions become challenging.

The technology offers several advantages over lithium-based alternatives, including enhanced durability, faster response times, improved safety and significantly longer operational life.

ANCEL claims the systems are capable of functioning in temperatures ranging from -40°F to 176°F and can withstand more than 500,000 operating cycles, making them suitable for long-term use in demanding environments.

Another key feature is continuous battery monitoring through a dedicated mobile application. The system provides users with real-time battery status updates and alerts, helping identify potential issues before they result in vehicle breakdowns.

The BS Series is designed as a permanently installed under-hood solution, transforming the concept of a jump starter from an emergency tool into an integrated battery management and starting assistance system.

Company representatives said this approach improves overall vehicle reliability by ensuring starting support is always available whenever required.

According to ANCEL, the introduction of the BS300 and BS400 represents an important step in expanding its Super Starter ecosystem and addressing the needs of a broader range of motorists and fleet operators.

The company believes the combination of supercapacitor technology, battery monitoring and permanent installation offers a more practical and dependable alternative for modern vehicle owners.

Looking ahead, ANCEL plans to continue investing in innovations related to vehicle diagnostics, battery management and starting technologies as part of its strategy to deliver more advanced automotive electronics solutions to customers worldwide.

With the BS Series now covering everything from everyday passenger vehicles to larger commercial applications, ANCEL aims to strengthen its presence in the growing market for intelligent battery support and engine starting systems.
