Bersatu Youth Wing Reshuffles State Leadership Ahead of State and General Elections
New Coordinators Appointed to Strengthen Election Machinery
PETALING JAYA — Angkatan Bersatu Anak Muda, the youth wing of Bersatu, has carried out a restructuring of its state leadership by appointing several new coordinators as part of preparations for upcoming state and general elections.
Armada information chief Harris Idaham Rashid said the decision was made during the Armada Political Bureau meeting chaired by Armada chief Muhammad Hilman Idham earlier today.
According to him, the restructuring exercise involved appointing several central committee members as state coordinators to strengthen the party’s machinery in strategic areas.
He said the preparations were made in anticipation of possible state and general elections in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Perak and Pahang in the near future.
“The meeting agreed to appoint Political Bureau leaders as coordinators for Armada Sabah and Armada Pahang,” he said in a statement today.
According to Harris Idaham Rashid, Armada treasurer Nor Zahid Rahim has been appointed as the coordinator for Armada Sabah.
Meanwhile, Harris himself was appointed as the coordinator for Armada Pahang.
He said the leadership restructuring aims to strengthen and streamline the party’s election machinery, particularly in areas identified as key focus regions for Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.
According to him, the move also took into account current political developments, including increasingly strained relations between Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional.
In a related development, Harris said the Armada Political Bureau also decided to discontinue the centralised format for Armada training camps.
Instead, training programmes will now be conducted directly in target states to accelerate preparations and strengthen election machinery at the grassroots level.
According to him, the new approach allows training to be organised more efficiently and closer to the party’s operational focus areas.
He said strengthening grassroots machinery is crucial in ensuring the party remains fully prepared for any possible election in the near future.
Political observers viewed the restructuring exercise as an early effort by Bersatu’s youth wing to strengthen its organisation and improve party mobilisation ahead of potential early state or general elections.
