Actress Yana Samsudin Mourns Father’s Passing, Shares Emotional Tribute on Social Media
PETALING JAYA: Malaysian actress Yana Samsudin has shared the heartbreaking news of her father’s passing, paying tribute to the man she described as the first and most important person she loved in her life.
Yana announced that her father, Samsudin Jamuri, passed away on Saturday after spending several days receiving medical treatment following a sudden collapse earlier in the week.
The actress revealed the news through an emotional Instagram post, where she reflected on her father’s final moments and expressed gratitude for the love and guidance he had given throughout her life.
According to Yana, her father collapsed shortly after performing the Maghrib prayer while reciting prayers and remembrance.
He was subsequently taken to hospital, where he underwent treatment before peacefully passing away several days later.
“My father collapsed after completing his Maghrib prayer while he was reciting his supplications.
“After several days of treatment, Allah has finally called him back to His mercy today,” she wrote.
Alongside the announcement, Yana shared photographs of cherished moments with her late father, prompting an outpouring of sympathy and condolences from fans, fellow artists and members of the public.
In her heartfelt message, the actress admitted that accepting the loss of her father has been one of the most difficult moments of her life.
She said that although she appeared composed on the outside, the pain of losing someone so close remained deeply overwhelming.
“My face may look calm, but only Allah truly knows what is in my heart.
“Thank you, Abah, for being the best father anyone could ever ask for,” she wrote.
Yana described her father as the first man she ever loved and someone who played a significant role in shaping her character and supporting her personal and professional journey.
She also expressed hope that they would be reunited in the hereafter.
“Today my world has lost the man I loved the most. I pray that we will meet again in paradise, Insya-Allah,” she added.
Her emotional tribute quickly attracted thousands of reactions across social media, with many followers offering prayers for the late Samsudin and messages of strength for Yana and her family.

According to the family, funeral prayers and final respects were held at Masjid Jamek Yong Peng in Johor before the late Samsudin was laid to rest at the Yong Peng Muslim Cemetery located near the North-South Expressway.
