Bersatu Expels Five More Leaders After Hamzah’s Removal, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Among Those Axed
KUALA LUMPUR: Internal tensions within Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia have intensified following the expulsion of five additional leaders, coming shortly after the party dismissed its former deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
Among those removed is Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, who had previously been suspended. Also expelled were Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob, Padang Rengas MP Azahari Hasan, Sabah Bersatu secretary Yunus Nurdin, and Mohd Hassundi Hamzah from the Larut division in Perak.
The party’s Disciplinary Board stated that the decision was reached during a meeting held yesterday and was based on Clause 22.5 of the Bersatu constitution, citing violations of Clause 9.1.4 which requires members to adhere to the party’s constitution and Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Immediate Termination With Right to Appeal
According to the Disciplinary Board chaired by Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan, the expulsions take immediate effect. However, the affected members may submit appeals to the party’s Appeals Board within 14 days from the issuance of the notice.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal had earlier been suspended for one term beginning in October last year before facing full expulsion.
Yunus Nurdin had previously drawn attention after openly urging party president Muhyiddin Yassin to resign.

The sweeping disciplinary actions signal an escalating internal crisis within Bersatu and raise questions about party cohesion and leadership stability.
