XPENG Strengthens Global Footprint at World Governments Summit, Showcases AI-Driven Mobility Vision
GUANGZHOU, Feb 12 — AI mobility innovator XPENG has expanded its global engagement strategy with its inaugural participation at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai, positioning itself at the center of discussions shaping the future of artificial intelligence and transportation systems.
The summit, held from February 3 to 5, gathered over 6,000 participants, including 35 heads of state, representatives from 150 governments, and more than 500 ministers. The event marked the largest edition in its history and featured global corporate leaders from companies such as Alibaba, Airbus, IBM, Ericsson, and Waymo.
XPENG’s presence reflects its strategic intent to contribute to policy discussions surrounding intelligent mobility, automation, and digital infrastructure. As governments worldwide accelerate AI adoption, the company aims to align technological innovation with regulatory evolution.
During the summit, Dr. Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of XPENG, participated in a high-level fireside session titled “The Age of Physical AI.” The discussion centered on how AI integration is transforming mobility systems that have seen limited structural change for nearly a century.
Dr. Gu emphasized that electrification represents only the first phase of industry evolution. While electric powertrains reduce emissions and energy dependency, intelligence will ultimately redefine the user experience and the function of mobility systems.
He described future vehicles as intelligent companions capable of sensing their environment, processing complex data in real time, and making autonomous decisions that enhance safety and reduce cognitive burden on drivers.
XPENG’s strategic framework is built around a full-stack AI architecture, integrating hardware engineering, software ecosystems, advanced algorithms, and large-scale data processing. This approach allows its vehicles and platforms to continuously improve through real-world learning.
Beyond electric vehicles, XPENG is investing in autonomous driving technology, flying mobility solutions, and humanoid robotics — signaling a broader ambition to create interconnected intelligent ecosystems.
Dr. Gu also projected that autonomous mobility services, including robotaxis, will become mainstream within the next decade. He noted that such a transition will depend not only on technological maturity but also on regulatory readiness and cross-sector collaboration.
During the summit, XPENG engaged in bilateral discussions with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, exploring opportunities to deepen the company’s European expansion strategy. The meeting highlighted XPENG’s growing influence in global markets and its commitment to strengthening its presence in Europe.
Additionally, XPENG held strategic meetings with policymakers and industry stakeholders from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to explore partnerships in smart mobility and AI-driven infrastructure.
XPENG’s debut at the World Governments Summit reinforces its positioning as a key player in the global shift toward intelligent, autonomous, and AI-powered transportation systems, underscoring its ambition to shape the next era of mobility innovation.
