Travel Patterns Shift Amid Middle East Tensions as Nuh Travel Promotes Safer Global Destinations
KUALA LUMPUR, April 6 — Rising instability in West Asia is influencing travel decisions among Malaysians, with many opting to avoid high-risk regions in favour of safer and more stable destinations.
In response to this evolving landscape, Nuh Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd. has introduced a revised lineup of travel packages focused on countries in Asia and Europe, catering to travellers seeking peace of mind amid global uncertainties.
The move reflects a broader shift in the tourism sector, where safety considerations are now a key factor in travel planning.
Changing Preferences Drive New Travel Strategy
Executive officer Abdul Halim Aliumar said that while overall interest in travel remains strong, customer preferences have shifted significantly due to the ongoing crisis.
Travellers are now more selective, prioritising destinations that offer political stability, strong infrastructure, and minimal exposure to geopolitical tensions.
“We are seeing consistent demand, but with a clear preference for safer regions. Our packages are designed to meet that expectation while remaining affordable,” he said.
Southeast Asia continues to record strong travel activity, while Europe and destinations such as New Zealand are increasingly viewed as reliable alternatives for international trips.
Flexible Travel Planning Gains Importance
To support customers navigating uncertain conditions, Nuh Travel has strengthened its coordination with airline partners to closely monitor flight schedules and respond quickly to any disruptions.
The company is also offering refund options for bookings made to destinations that have since been classified as high-risk, allowing customers to revise their travel plans without financial pressure.
This level of flexibility is becoming essential as global travel conditions remain fluid and unpredictable.
Partnership Enhances Cashless Travel Experience
In addition to adjusting travel offerings, Nuh Travel has partnered with RHB Islamic Bank Berhad to introduce enhanced payment convenience for customers travelling abroad.
The collaboration highlights the RHB-i Multi Currency Visa Debit Card, which supports up to 34 currencies and enables seamless international transactions without the need for physical currency exchange.
The card’s integration with digital payment platforms such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay allows travellers to make payments securely using their smartphones.
RHB Islamic managing director Datuk Adissadikin Ali noted that such innovations are aligned with the global shift towards cashless transactions, improving both efficiency and user experience.
Tourism Sector Navigates Global Challenges
The current situation underscores the importance of adaptability within the tourism industry as it navigates geopolitical challenges and shifting consumer expectations.
By focusing on safety, flexibility, and convenience, travel agencies like Nuh Travel are positioning themselves to remain competitive while addressing the evolving needs of modern travellers.
