IUC’s Industry-Driven Learning Strategy Produces Job-Ready Graduates

PUTRAJAYA — Innovative University College (IUC) has reported a strong graduate employment outcome, with more than 70 per cent of its graduates successfully entering the workforce shortly after completing their studies.

The achievement has been attributed to the institution’s Work Experience Learning (WEL) strategy, which integrates real-world work exposure into the academic curriculum.

According to IUC Founder and Board Member Shahawati Umar, the approach ensures students gain practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge, preparing them to meet employer expectations upon graduation.

“Students are immersed in actual workplace environments early on, allowing them to develop essential skills, professional maturity and adaptability,” she said.

The success is further reinforced by a leadership and learning ecosystem led by Prof Datuk Wira Dr Azizan Osman, which emphasises holistic talent development beyond academic excellence.

Board Member Datuk Ahmad Rizal Mohd Noor said the institution continuously aligns its curriculum with industry needs to ensure graduates remain relevant and employable.

“We aim to produce graduates who are not only academically competent but also equipped with practical skills, professional values and strong work ethics,” he noted.

IUC’s commitment to experiential learning has positioned it as a key contributor to workforce development, supplying industry-ready talent to the local market.

Recently, IUC celebrated the achievements of its graduates at the 11th Convocation Ceremony held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, where 528 diploma and certificate graduates were conferred.

The ceremony was officiated by Chancellor Captain (R) Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Hashim Yaacob. The Chancellor’s Award was presented to Mohamad Azlie Jamil in recognition of his academic excellence and commendable character.
