BN to prioritise development, education and cost of living issues in Negeri Sembilan election manifesto
JELEBU: Barisan Nasional (BN) will place key issues such as state development, education, public welfare and the rising cost of living at the centre of its manifesto for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan State Election.
Negeri Sembilan UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias said the coalition’s manifesto would adopt a forward-looking approach by introducing improvements to existing initiatives while focusing on areas that directly benefit the people.
He said the direction was shaped by the experience of the current Unity Government, where several commitments outlined in BN’s previous manifesto had already been implemented during the administration’s two years and eight months.
“Moving forward, we will enhance several areas, particularly those involving development, education, welfare and the stability of the people’s lives,” he said.
Jalaluddin added that greater emphasis would also be given to addressing household income challenges, especially among vulnerable groups affected by increasing living costs.
He said efforts to improve income opportunities would remain a priority, particularly for lower-income communities and those facing financial pressures.
The Jelebu Member of Parliament was speaking after the nomination process for candidates contesting the Chennah, Pertang, Sungai Lui and Klawang state seats at the Kuala Klawang Hall in Jelebu.
Jalaluddin, who is also the BN candidate for the Pertang state constituency, said the coalition would continue focusing on strengthening economic opportunities at the grassroots level.
Among the areas receiving attention, he said, was assistance for small traders and entrepreneurs to help them improve their businesses and generate more sustainable income.
According to him, empowering small businesses would contribute towards strengthening the local economy while improving the financial well-being of communities across the state.
He added that creating a comfortable and stable environment for residents at the grassroots level was crucial in ensuring Negeri Sembilan’s continued progress and allowing the state government to function effectively.
“A stable and prosperous community provides the foundation for leaders who receive the people’s mandate to manage the state with greater confidence,” he said.
The BN manifesto for the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Election is expected to be officially launched on July 24 at the Linggi state constituency, where the coalition will outline its commitments and plans for voters.
The announcement comes as political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of polling, with economic concerns, public services and development expected to remain among the key issues shaping voter decisions.
