Apacer Strengthens SSD Power Protection and Efficiency to Support Edge AI and Industrial Systems

FREMONT, Calif., Feb. 11, 2026 — As solid-state drives become integral to Edge AI deployments, industrial automation and mission-critical systems, power stability and energy efficiency have emerged as defining factors in storage reliability. Apacer Memory America Inc. has expanded its SSD power portfolio with upgraded CoreVolt 2 and CoreEnergy technologies to address these evolving challenges.

In embedded and industrial environments, voltage fluctuations and unstable power inputs can disrupt operations and compromise data integrity. At the same time, increasing AI workloads and compact system designs demand lower power consumption and improved thermal management.

CoreVolt 2 functions as a next-generation power protection system that continuously monitors incoming voltage. When abnormal conditions are detected, it activates a backup mechanism supported by tantalum polymer capacitors, stabilising voltage delivery to the SSD. This safeguards data and ensures operational continuity during sudden power disturbances.

The technology is targeted at mission-critical sectors including industrial computing, aerospace, transportation and robotics, where downtime and data loss are unacceptable.

Complementing this is CoreEnergy, Apacer’s intelligent power management architecture designed to optimise SSD energy usage without sacrificing performance. Multiple selectable energy modes allow integrators to tailor power behaviour according to system requirements, either through software configuration or hardware controls. Advanced Energy Mode enables fine-grained tuning beyond default settings.

According to Apacer, the solution can reduce SSD power consumption by up to 67 percent while lowering thermal output, making it well-suited for fan-less systems, compact Edge AI devices and high-demand industrial applications.

Together, CoreVolt 2 and CoreEnergy form a unified SSD power ecosystem that integrates voltage protection, thermal control and energy optimisation. As AI-driven workloads continue to expand, Apacer’s approach aims to enhance storage reliability, extend service life and maintain stable performance in electrically demanding environments.
