Ahmad Samsuri describes new PN chairman role as heavy responsibility, vows to strengthen coalition

KUALA TERENGGANU: Newly appointed Perikatan Nasional chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar said his new position carries significant responsibility and challenges.

He said the role comes with high expectations from various groups who hope the coalition can continue serving as a political force capable of delivering positive change for Malaysians from all backgrounds.

Priority on strengthening structure and unity

Ahmad Samsuri said he plans to hold discussions with the coalition’s top leadership to determine key appointments in accordance with its constitution.

He stressed that strengthening internal unity and improving organisational structure would be among his immediate priorities.

He added that these steps are essential to ensure PN remains relevant and effective.

Appointed unanimously to replace Muhyiddin

He was unanimously chosen during a special leadership meeting to replace former chairman Muhyiddin Yassin.

The decision was supported by leaders of the coalition’s component parties.

His appointment marks a leadership transition within the coalition.

Ahmad Samsuri expressed appreciation for the trust placed in him.
