Aaron Aziz Opts Out of Physical Contact Scenes as He Embraces a More Selective Acting Approach
KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 — Veteran actor Aaron Aziz is taking a more measured approach to his acting career, choosing to avoid scenes involving direct physical contact as he prioritises personal boundaries and professional comfort.
The 50-year-old actor, whose full name is Aaron Mustapha Aziz, said he is no longer comfortable performing scenes that require close physical interaction, such as carrying or touching female co-stars.
Instead, he prefers to approach such scenes with greater caution, ensuring that any physical interaction remains appropriate and does not involve direct skin contact.
He explained that this shift reflects a natural progression as he grows older, emphasising the importance of maintaining personal values and professionalism in his work.
Aaron made these remarks when met at the iQIYI Aidilfitri Open House 2026 event held in Kuala Lumpur recently.
Addressing speculation about his career direction, he clarified that he has not withdrawn from television dramas, but is now more selective in choosing roles.
He said he is no longer interested in portraying repetitive or overly familiar storylines, particularly conventional romance plots that have been frequently explored in the past.
However, he stressed that he remains open to opportunities, as long as the roles offered are meaningful and align with his current preferences.
Aaron also revealed that he is currently involved in filming a long-running drama series, reaffirming his continued presence in the local entertainment industry.
Commenting on the emergence of new talents, he described the trend as a positive development that brings fresh energy and raises the overall standard of Malaysian productions.
He noted that the growth of streaming platforms has created more opportunities for actors, directors and production teams to showcase their capabilities and reach wider audiences.
Aaron believes that the evolving entertainment landscape will continue to drive the industry forward, benefiting both established artists and newcomers alike.
