Ezzanie Jasny Overcomes Accident and Online Harassment, Returns to Acting

KUALA LUMPUR, March 5 — Malaysian actress Ezzanie Jasny has resumed work after recovering from a serious car accident and confronting troubling online harassment earlier this year.

The 27-year-old performer, recognised for her role in Layang Layang Perkahwinan, described the beginning of 2026 as one of the most difficult periods of her life. However, she says she is now gradually regaining her strength and returning to filming commitments.

Speaking during a media session at a Raya advertising launch and buka puasa event organised by LOL Entertainment in Kuala Lumpur, Ezzanie shared details about the frightening accident that left her hospitalised.

According to the actress, the incident happened near her home when her father briefly fell asleep while driving, causing their vehicle to crash.

Head Injury Led to Temporary Memory Loss

Ezzanie said she was seated in the backseat during the collision and suffered a hard impact to the head.

The blow resulted in a head injury that caused confusion and memory lapses in the hours following the accident.

“I could barely remember what happened after the crash,” she told reporters. “I was drifting in and out of consciousness until the following morning.”

Medical staff worked through the night to ensure she remained awake, fearing that the injury might cause her to slip into a coma.

Doctors later determined that the bleeding she experienced was an extracranial haemorrhage — a condition where bleeding occurs outside the skull rather than within the brain itself.

Although the injury initially appeared severe due to the bleeding, the diagnosis brought some relief, as it meant the brain had not been directly affected.

Ezzanie remained in hospital for a week while recovering from the injury, which also left her with a noticeable bruise around one eye.

She said she had to temporarily step away from filming during the recovery period.

Fake Accounts and Threats Target Actress

During the same month, Ezzanie also faced a separate ordeal involving fake social media profiles impersonating her online.

The individuals behind the accounts allegedly used her identity to post offensive remarks during other users’ live broadcasts.

More concerning, the impersonators reportedly issued threats directed at her family members and her personal assistant.

Ezzanie lodged a police report regarding the matter and believes authorities may have intervened following her complaint.

She also acknowledged the possible role of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission in addressing the issue.

“Thankfully, things have been quiet recently,” she said.

While the threatening messages happened on the same day as her accident, Ezzanie clarified that the two incidents were unrelated.

She also issued a warning to those responsible, reminding them that such actions constitute a criminal offence.
