Ramadan Bazaar Traders in Perlis Reduce Food Waste by Adopting Smarter Supply Strategies
KANGAR, Feb 28 — Traders at Ramadan bazaars in Perlis are taking a more cautious approach to food preparation, adjusting supply based on actual demand to minimise waste and prevent financial losses during the fasting month.
Kangar Municipal Council president Affendi Rajini Kanth said monitoring conducted during the first week of Ramadan showed a significant reduction in food waste.
He said only about 10 to 15 per cent of prepared food remained unsold each day.
