AirAsia X Posts RM191.75 Million Net Profit for FY2025 as Revenue Growth Signals Recovery
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 26 — AirAsia X Berhad reported a net profit of RM191.75 million for the financial year ended December 31, 2025, reflecting a decline from RM229.14 million recorded in the previous year.
Despite the drop in annual profit, the long-haul low-cost airline achieved higher revenue of RM3.33 billion, compared with RM3.25 billion previously.
The increase in revenue highlights continued recovery in travel demand, supported by higher ticket prices and increased passenger spending on additional services.
Strong Fourth Quarter Performance Boosts Outlook
AirAsia X delivered a significantly stronger performance in the fourth quarter, recording net profit of RM78.57 million, compared with RM22.56 million in the same period a year earlier.
Quarterly revenue rose to RM920.81 million from RM872.35 million, driven by higher average fares and improved ancillary revenue.
This helped offset increased operating costs.
Plans to Strengthen Global Low-Cost Position
Looking ahead, AirAsia X said it aims to reinforce its position as one of the world’s leading low-cost airlines.
The company also plans to establish the foundation for the world’s first low-cost network carrier by 2026.
This strategy is expected to improve efficiency and expand its network.
Focus on Cost Discipline and Sustainable Growth
AirAsia X said it will continue to monitor external risks, including currency fluctuations and fuel prices.
However, stronger financial positioning and favourable currency movements are expected to support cost management.
The airline remains committed to offering affordable fares and delivering long-term value to shareholders.
With improving performance and clear strategic direction, AirAsia X is positioning itself for continued growth in the global aviation industry.
