Pyrotecnico Breaks Guinness World Record with Massive Pyrotechnic Drone Show in Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS, Feb 25 — Fireworks company Pyrotecnico has set a new Guinness World Records title for the largest daytime fireworks display using more than 1,000 pyrotechnic drones during the International Fireworks Championship at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The record-setting event took place on Feb 21, 2026, and featured 1,020 drones equipped with airborne smoke pyrotechnic systems, creating one of the largest coordinated aerial displays ever performed during daylight.
The project was developed in partnership with Spanish pyrotechnics company Ricasa, which designed custom pyrotechnic products specifically for integration with drone technology.
Pyrotecnico said its team handled the entire drone system, including engineering, flight programming and performance execution.
The show included a total of 2,024 smoke effects, with each drone producing two synchronized pyrotechnic emissions.
The drones were powered by advanced flight technology from Firefly Drone Systems, enabling precise flight coordination.
The performance began with a large American flag formation created using colored smoke, measuring approximately 600 feet wide and 400 feet tall.
This was followed by a bat formation representing Valencia, Spain, the birthplace of mascletà.
Pyrotecnico President Rocco Vitale said the achievement demonstrates the potential of combining drone technology with traditional pyrotechnics.
He said the collaboration with Ricasa helped make the record possible.
He added that drone technology allows more precise and creative performances.
The show involved over 1,000 drones operating simultaneously.
Pyrotecnico said the technology opens new possibilities in the entertainment industry.
The company believes drone pyrotechnics will play a major role in future events.
