Fasha Sandha Defends Sharifah Rose, Says Experience Will Shape Her Growth
PETALING JAYA: Actress Fasha Sandha has come forward to defend fellow actress Sharifah Rose following criticism from a social media user who described Rose’s acting as awkward and lacking emotional depth.
In a post on Threads, Fasha responded to the comment by highlighting her personal experience working alongside Sharifah Rose for three months during the filming of the drama Doa Yang Terlindung. According to her, the young actress demonstrated professionalism and strong work ethics throughout the production period.
“I think Sharifah Rose acts well. I spent three months working with her. She is punctual and hardworking,” Fasha wrote.
Fasha stressed that discipline on set is a crucial factor in the development of any actor. Beyond raw talent, she said qualities such as commitment, punctuality and willingness to learn play an essential role in shaping long-term success in the entertainment industry.
She also noted that new actors naturally go through a learning curve. Acting skills, she said, are refined over time through exposure, experience and continuous practice rather than instant transformation.
“InsyaAllah, with more experience, Rose can go far,” she added.
The criticism began when a netizen claimed that despite appearing in several dramas, Sharifah Rose still seemed stiff in her performances and suggested that she enrol in acting classes to improve her craft.
The remark sparked mixed reactions online. Some users agreed that actors should constantly upgrade their skills, while others argued that Rose is still building her career and deserves time to grow and mature in her performances.
Sharifah Rose has been steadily increasing her presence in television dramas and has garnered attention among viewers, particularly younger audiences. Despite facing public scrutiny, she continues to secure roles in upcoming projects, indicating that producers remain confident in her potential.
Fasha’s public show of support is seen as a significant gesture within the entertainment community, especially coming from a more established figure in the industry. In an environment where performances are frequently debated online, such backing from senior artists can influence public perception and provide encouragement to emerging talents striving to strengthen their craft.
