SEA-GULL Launches Meteorite Split-Seconds Chronograph in Exclusive 200-Piece Edition

NEW YORK/TIANJIN: Chinese watchmaker SEA-GULL Watch has unveiled one of its most ambitious mechanical timepieces to date with the introduction of the Meteorite Rattrapante Chronograph Limited Edition.

The new model combines a genuine meteorite dial with a sophisticated split-seconds chronograph movement, bringing together rare materials and advanced watchmaking in a highly limited production run.

The launch is particularly significant because it represents the first occasion that SEA-GULL has introduced a meteorite-dial mechanical rattrapante chronograph through the Kickstarter platform, allowing collectors worldwide direct access to the exclusive release.

Production is limited to only 200 watches globally, enhancing the model’s appeal among enthusiasts and collectors seeking rarity.

At the centre of the design is a dial crafted from authentic Muonionalusta meteorite, a celestial material that landed on Earth millions of years ago.

Each dial displays naturally occurring Widmanstätten patterns formed over vast periods in space, ensuring that every watch possesses a completely unique appearance.

Powering the timepiece is the company’s upgraded in-house ST1961-2 movement, a manually wound calibre derived from SEA-GULL’s respected ST19 chronograph family.

The movement features a split-seconds, or rattrapante, complication that enables users to time two events simultaneously using dual chronograph hands.

Widely regarded as one of the most technically demanding complications in mechanical watchmaking, the rattrapante mechanism is usually found in significantly more expensive luxury watches.

The calibre employs a traditional column-wheel architecture and includes a dedicated pusher at the 10 o’clock position for operating the split-timing function.

Visible through a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the movement showcases upgraded finishing, flame-blued screws and a series of refinements designed to improve durability, precision and visual appeal.

The watch is housed within a 42.5mm Grade-5 titanium case that offers an excellent balance of strength, comfort and corrosion resistance.

Its design language pays tribute to the legendary Seagull 1963 aviation chronograph, reflecting the brand’s longstanding connection to military and pilot-inspired timepieces.

In addition to the standalone model, SEA-GULL is also offering a special collector package that pairs the Meteorite Rattrapante Chronograph with the newly released Seagull 1963 Meteorite Dial Edition.

Together, the two watches illustrate the progression of the company’s aviation chronograph heritage from its historical roots to its most advanced mechanical achievements.

Early Kickstarter supporters can secure the watch at promotional pricing beginning at US$4,549, while the official retail price has been set at US$5,200.

Deliveries are expected to commence in July 2026, with orders fulfilled according to pledge priority.
