Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia Frees Four Police Officers on Bail as Probe Nears Completion
KOTA BHARU: Four police officers under investigation in a RM12,000 bribery case have been released on bail by the Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (MACC) Kelantan after their remand period ended.
Sources said the investigation is nearing completion and the case file will soon be submitted to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.
The suspects were previously detained for allegedly soliciting and accepting bribes in exchange for not taking action against an individual found transporting ketum leaves.
Remand Period Ends, Conditions Imposed
The four officers were remanded for five days starting April 7 before being released.
Despite their release, they remain subject to conditions set by the MACC while investigations continue.
Monthly Reporting Requirement
MACC Kelantan director Azmin Yusoff confirmed that the suspects have been granted bail.
He said they are required to report to the MACC office on a monthly basis until the investigation is concluded.
Awaiting Prosecution Decision
Authorities are finalising the investigation before any prosecution decision is made.
Further action will depend on the evaluation of evidence by the prosecution.
