Zoomlion Showcases Humanoid Robot Z01 as Embodied AI Takes Centre Stage at KOMATEK 2026

ISTANBUL: Chinese industrial equipment manufacturer Zoomlion attracted significant attention at KOMATEK 2026 after unveiling its humanoid robot Z01, highlighting the company’s growing ambitions in embodied artificial intelligence and industrial robotics.

The appearance of Z01 became one of the exhibition’s standout attractions, complementing a broader showcase of more than 40 advanced construction machinery products that reportedly secured orders exceeding RMB1 billion during the event.

Designed for industrial collaboration, intelligent navigation and educational applications, the bipedal robot demonstrated advanced mobility, operational precision and interactive capabilities throughout the exhibition.

One of the most popular demonstrations featured Z01 performing a Tai Chi routine, showcasing sophisticated motion control, dynamic balance and human-robot interaction technologies.

According to Zoomlion, the development of humanoid robotics represents a strategic growth area that could become a significant pillar of the company’s future business expansion.

The company’s efforts build on years of investment in industrial digitalisation and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies, which have helped establish a strong technological foundation for AI-driven innovation.

Through its industrial internet subsidiary, Zvalley, Zoomlion has assembled a research and development team of nearly 1,300 engineers and technology specialists focused on artificial intelligence, automation and robotics.

Since 2024, the company has accelerated its embodied AI strategy by creating an integrated development framework covering robot hardware, motion-control systems, decision-making algorithms, software ecosystems and key components.

This technological foundation is also being applied to improve the intelligence and automation capabilities of Zoomlion’s construction, agricultural and mining equipment businesses.

By the end of 2025, the company had developed eight embodied AI robot prototypes spanning four major categories, including humanoid robots and wheeled robotic systems.

These platforms have already undergone testing in real-world industrial environments within Zoomlion Smart City, where they have been deployed for logistics operations, factory inspections, loading and unloading tasks, pre-assembly processes and quality control activities.

The practical deployment of these robots has enabled the company to gather valuable operational data and accelerate the transition from research and development to large-scale commercial applications.

Earlier this year, Zoomlion also introduced its Robot Ops embodied AI development platform at Hannover Messe 2026, demonstrating collaborative operations between humanoid and logistics robots.

The showcase highlighted the company’s progress in transforming embodied AI from a laboratory concept into a practical industrial solution capable of operating in complex real-world environments.

Zoomlion said its long-term objective is to develop intelligent robotic systems that can deliver measurable value across industrial sectors while supporting automation, efficiency and operational safety.

With continued investment in AI, robotics and industrial digitalisation, the company believes embodied intelligence will become an increasingly important technology platform for future manufacturing and industrial operations worldwide.
