
KEY Energy Transition Expo 2026 Draws Global Industry With Rising International Participation
RIMINI, Italy – The KEY – Energy Transition Expo 2026 concluded successfully at the Rimini Expo Centre, recording strong growth in visitor numbers and international participation.
Organised by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the event reported a 10 percent increase in total attendance compared with the previous edition, while the number of foreign visitors rose by nine percent.
The exhibition continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the most significant platforms for the global energy transition across Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean region.
More than 1,000 exhibiting brands took part in this year’s edition, including approximately 320 international companies presenting advanced technologies and innovative solutions related to clean energy and sustainable energy systems.
Major Global Platform for Energy Innovation
KEY 2026 covered an exhibition space of 125,000 square metres across 24 halls at the Rimini Expo Centre.
The event showcased developments across seven key sectors related to energy transition, including renewable energy production, energy efficiency, energy storage, smart grid technologies and digital solutions designed to optimise power systems.
Companies from around the world used the platform to present innovative technologies aimed at accelerating the global shift towards low-carbon and sustainable energy infrastructure.
The exhibition also attracted strong interest from investors looking to support emerging technologies within the clean energy sector.
Delegations From 59 Countries Attend
The expo saw strong international representation, with 530 hosted buyers and official delegations from 59 countries participating in the event.
Their attendance was supported by the Italian Trade Agency and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The presence of international buyers and delegations created opportunities for companies to establish new partnerships and explore potential investments in the rapidly growing energy transition market.
A total of 412 journalists from around the world were also accredited to cover the event.
Expert Conferences Highlight Energy Challenges
KEY 2026 featured a comprehensive programme of 160 scientific and industry conferences that addressed critical challenges facing the global energy sector.
Experts and policymakers discussed topics such as financing renewable energy projects, improving energy efficiency for decarbonisation, advancing energy storage technologies and integrating artificial intelligence into electricity grid management.
These discussions highlighted the importance of innovation and international cooperation in achieving global climate and sustainability goals.
Africa Investment HUB Promotes International Collaboration
The event was officially inaugurated by Italy’s Minister of Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin.
One of the new highlights of the expo was the introduction of the Africa Investment HUB, which aims to strengthen collaboration between European energy companies and emerging African markets.
The initiative is designed to promote sustainable energy development while encouraging international investment in the region.
Innovation and Green Jobs Highlighted
Innovation was a central theme of the exhibition, with the Innovation District featuring 32 start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises presenting cutting-edge technologies.
In addition, the Green Jobs & Skills programme helped connect companies with professionals seeking careers in sustainability and renewable energy sectors.
The initiative aims to support the growth of the green workforce needed for the future energy economy.
Electricity Expo Held Alongside KEY
Running alongside the main exhibition was the DPE – International Electricity Expo, which focused on technologies related to electricity generation, transmission and distribution systems.
The event also addressed safety and automation solutions within the power industry.
It was organised by Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the Distributed Generation Association, part of ANIMA Confindustria, and Federazione ANIE.
With growing international participation and a strong focus on technological innovation, KEY 2026 further reinforced its role as one of the leading global events dedicated to the energy transition.
