Anjung Syawal Putrajaya Boosts TMM2026

Showcases Malaysia’s Unique Ramadan and Eid Celebrations

PUTRAJAYA: The Anjung Syawal Putrajaya programme, held in conjunction with the Putrajaya Ramadan Festival 2026 (FRP2026), is expected to become one of the key highlights of Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (TMM2026), strengthening Putrajaya’s position as an international tourism, cultural, and events destination.

Event Organising Manager Muhammad Amin Noriman Azmi said the initiative, recognised as one of the largest Eid bazaars in the Klang Valley, is targeting total sales of up to RM40 million and more than one million visitors throughout its duration.

He explained that Anjung Syawal serves not only as a commercial platform but also as a strategic tourism promotion channel that integrates culture, entertainment, entrepreneurship, and spiritual elements.

“Through strategic collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Perbadanan Putrajaya, this programme supports TMM2026 by offering local tourism products and visitor-friendly activities.

“Our aim is to showcase Malaysia’s unique Ramadan and Eid atmosphere to both domestic and international travellers,” he said during a media briefing.

Officially listed in the TMM2026 calendar, Anjung Syawal FRP2026 will take place at Dataran Putrajaya, Precinct 3, from February 18 to March 19, featuring a wide range of commercial, cultural, and religious activities.

Major attractions include Eid fashion shows, traditional art performances, and cultural showcases designed to provide visitors with an immersive event-based tourism experience.

The programme also places strong emphasis on spiritual enrichment through religious talks and lectures involving 31 speakers, including Federal Territories Mufti Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil, as well as renowned preachers Syamsul Debat and Habib Ali Zainal Abidin.

In addition, performances by leading nasyid groups, qasidah recitals, and Quranic reflection sessions are set to enrich the programme, in line with efforts to highlight Islamic values and cultural heritage as key tourism assets.

Muhammad Amin noted that Anjung Syawal also plays a significant role in stimulating the local economy by creating business opportunities for small and medium enterprises while boosting the hospitality and service sectors.

He added that the initiative is expected to strengthen Malaysia’s reputation as a progressive and inclusive Islamic tourism destination.

“Anjung Syawal is more than a seasonal event. It is a strategic platform to present Malaysia’s identity, culture, and values to the world,” he said.
