KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded a statement from a 13-year-old boy believed to be involved in an incident where objects were thrown from the 13th floor of a People’s Housing Project (PPR) block in Taman Desa Petaling, raising concerns among residents.
Cheras district police chief Mohd Rosdi Daud said the teenager came forward with his parents to assist in investigations after a video of the incident went viral on social media.
Dangerous Act Sparks Concern
Preliminary investigations indicate that the boy allegedly threw a stone and a plastic chair from the upper level of the building, causing alarm among residents.
No injuries were reported despite the potentially dangerous act.
A 30-second clip circulating online earlier showed the teenager throwing an object from an apartment walkway.
Separate Case: Foreign Man Arrested After Fleeing Roadblock
In a separate case, Mohd Rosdi Daud said a foreign man was arrested after attempting to flee a police roadblock in Sungai Besi.
The incident occurred at around 6.23am when a Perodua Axia carrying three individuals sped off after being instructed to stop at Jalan Suasa 6.
Vehicle Collides with Two Cars
While trying to escape, the vehicle crashed into two civilian cars in a residential area before being intercepted by police patrol units in Kampung Pandan, Ampang.
Checks revealed that the 53-year-old Indonesian suspect did not possess valid identification documents or a driving licence.
Authorities are still searching for the other two individuals believed to have been in the vehicle.
Suspect Remanded as Probe Continues
The suspect has been remanded for 14 days to assist in investigations under Section 186 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
Police said investigations are ongoing to ensure all those involved are held accountable.
