Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia to Provide Assistance to Family of Student Killed in School Incident

KOTA BHARU: The Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia has taken immediate steps to ensure that the family of a student from SMK Tanjong Mas who died in a school compound incident receives the necessary assistance.

The victim, Nur Fatimatul Hawa Mohd. Azaudin, 13, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe injuries in the incident, which occurred at around 1.50pm.

Family Welfare Prioritised

In a statement, KPM emphasised that the welfare and well-being of the victim’s family are its top priority.

The ministry also noted that the case is being investigated by authorities, while an internal inquiry has been initiated to review compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Focus on Safety Measures

KPM reminded all educational institutions under its supervision to strictly adhere to established safety guidelines.

This is crucial to ensure the safety of students, teachers and school staff, and to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Condolences Extended

The ministry also conveyed its condolences to the victim’s family, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss.

KPM hopes the family will be granted strength and resilience during this difficult time.

Incident Raises Public Concern

Earlier reports stated that the student was struck by an SUV in front of the school surau after performing the Zohor prayer.

The incident has raised concerns among the public regarding safety within school premises.
