Agrobank Adopts Flexible Work Approach to Enhance Efficiency and Reduce Costs

PETALING JAYA — Agrobank is set to implement a flexible work approach involving remote work and near-home work arrangements as part of its strategy to adapt to global energy uncertainties.

The initiative will be introduced in phases starting May 2026, in line with internal guidelines designed to balance operational performance with employee well-being.

As part of the plan, Agrobank will leverage its network of 219 branches nationwide by designating selected locations as satellite work hubs to support the new model.

The near-home work concept allows employees to work closer to where they live, reducing commuting time and associated costs while improving overall productivity.

A rotational system will be adopted to ensure that operations continue seamlessly and customer service standards remain unaffected.

To facilitate the transition, the bank will equip selected branches with appropriate infrastructure and work facilities to maintain an efficient and comfortable working environment.

The move aligns with broader national efforts to optimise energy consumption and manage operational costs more effectively.

In addition, the flexible work model is expected to improve workforce efficiency and strengthen the organisation’s resilience in an evolving economic landscape.

Agrobank said it will continuously monitor and refine the implementation to ensure it remains effective and aligned with business needs.

Overall, the initiative reflects a shift towards a more modern, flexible, and sustainable approach to workplace management within the financial sector.
