KUALA LUMPUR, March 1 — A devastating fire at a public housing flat in Kampung Muhibbah has claimed the life of a four-year-old boy, prompting authorities to launch a detailed investigation into the cause of the incident.

The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said emergency teams were alerted to the blaze at 2.59 pm and quickly dispatched firefighters from nearby stations to contain the situation.

Fire broke out on upper floor unit

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the fire had engulfed a residential unit located on the 10th floor of the building.

Fire suppression efforts were immediately carried out using internal firefighting systems to prevent the blaze from spreading to neighbouring units.

The fire was successfully contained within minutes, reducing the risk of further destruction.

However, during a search of the unit, firefighters discovered the young victim inside one of the rooms.

His body was later handed over to the police for further investigation.
