Bukit Bintang Roads to Close for Launch of ‘I LITE U’ Urban Lighting Festival
KUALA LUMPUR — Two major roads in Bukit Bintang will be temporarily closed this weekend as Kuala Lumpur prepares to unveil ‘I LITE U’, a sustainable urban lighting initiative designed to transform the city’s night-time environment.
City authorities said Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang will be closed from Saturday morning until early Sunday to allow for the launch event and related activities.
The project features more than 70 energy-efficient LED installations, combining artistic design with modern lighting technology to highlight the city’s architecture while reducing energy consumption.
The initiative reflects Kuala Lumpur’s broader ambition to embrace smart, environmentally responsible urban solutions, positioning the city as a regional leader in sustainable night-time cityscapes.
