
Two Suspects, Including NGO Deputy Head, Released on MACC Bail
PETALING JAYA, April 30 — Two individuals, including the deputy head of a non-governmental organisation (NGO), have been released on bail by the Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia following the expiry of their remand period today.
According to sources, the suspects were previously detained to assist investigations into the alleged misappropriation of approximately RM230 million in funds.
Preliminary findings indicate that the funds were suspected to have been diverted for investment purposes and personal use.
The suspects had their remand extended for five days starting April 25 before being released after the period concluded.
Selangor MACC director Mohd Azwan Ramli confirmed that all individuals involved in the case have been released on bail.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the alleged misconduct and identify all parties involved.
