Kuala Lumpur M&A Conference Highlights Discipline and Strategy Under Global Expert David Braun

KUALA LUMPUR, April 30 — Kuala Lumpur has once again hosted a high-level global discussion on corporate growth strategy as David Braun, Founder and CEO of Capstone Strategic, led a Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Excellence conference for senior executives.

Organised by Kexxel Group, the programme focused on how middle-market companies can achieve sustainable growth through structured and disciplined acquisition strategies.

This marks Braun’s second in-person appearance at the conference, following a series of successful virtual sessions delivered to global executive audiences.

Throughout the programme, Braun emphasised that successful M&A outcomes are not driven by opportunity alone, but by an organisation’s ability to execute strategy consistently and with discipline.

He highlighted the importance of defining a clear strategic rationale before pursuing acquisitions, supported by rigorous research and precise valuation practices.

“Acquisition is not just a transaction. It is a tool for executing strategy — and only disciplined organisations can leverage it effectively over time,” he said.

The sessions covered the full M&A lifecycle, including the shift from opportunistic deal-making to demand-driven targeting, the integration of due diligence with early-stage planning, and the critical role of structured 100-day post-acquisition integration plans.

Braun also noted that many companies fail in M&A not due to a lack of opportunities, but because they lack internal structures to support consistent execution.

Legal insights were provided by Edwin Chan from Goodwin Law, who addressed regulatory and cross-border challenges.

According to Adora Tan, the programme received strong feedback from participants, reflecting its practical value and strategic relevance.

With over US$2 billion in facilitated transactions across more than 40 industries, Capstone Strategic is widely recognised for its “Roadmap to Acquisition” methodology, which helps companies build M&A as a repeatable and sustainable growth capability.
