Raja Afiq Dismisses Exit Rumours, Says He Is Preparing for Acting Comeback
KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 — Actor Raja Afiq Raja Razali has denied speculation that he is stepping away from acting, saying recent online claims suggesting he has lost interest in the entertainment industry are inaccurate.
The 32-year-old actor said the rumours emerged at a time when he is actively planning the next phase of his career together with a new management team.
According to Raja Afiq, he was surprised after fans contacted him about a TikTok post that implied he no longer intended to pursue acting professionally.
He said the speculation does not reflect his current situation, explaining that he had only recently completed filming for the feature film Black Ops: Operasi Serigala in May.
Rather than leaving the industry, Raja Afiq said he is currently focusing on improving his physical condition before accepting new acting projects.
He explained that maintaining a consistent appearance has become an important part of his career preparation, particularly because his body weight can fluctuate easily.
The actor said he wants to be in the best possible shape before returning to television and film productions, believing that physical fitness contributes to both confidence and on-screen performance.
Raja Afiq acknowledged that his reduced television appearances over the past period may have led some observers to assume he had lost interest in acting.
However, he stressed that spending less time in the public spotlight should not be interpreted as retiring from the profession.
Instead, he described the quieter period as an opportunity to reorganise his career and prepare for future projects more strategically.
Working with a new management team, Raja Afiq said discussions are already underway to map out his upcoming professional schedule.
Beyond acting opportunities, the team is also arranging meetings with product founders and potential commercial partners to explore endorsement and brand collaboration opportunities.
He admitted feeling disappointed that unfounded rumours surfaced just as plans for his return were beginning to take shape.
Raja Afiq first gained wider recognition through the drama series Sayangku Kapten Mukhriz before appearing in productions including Polis Peronda – Ranjau Jalanan, Gerak Khas Undercover, Cinta Non Grata, Tumpang Lalu Bang and Seindah Tujuh Warna Pelangi.
Looking back on his career, the actor said he never viewed his temporary slowdown as leaving the entertainment industry altogether.
Instead, he used the period to focus on several personal priorities, including improving his physical health, strengthening his mental well-being and reassessing his long-term career goals.
He described the experience as an important learning phase that helped him become more disciplined and develop a clearer understanding of the direction he wants to pursue as an actor.
Now feeling more prepared both physically and mentally, Raja Afiq said he is ready to fully recommit himself to acting.
He added that maintaining good health has become a long-term personal priority rather than simply a professional requirement.
When considering future acting offers, Raja Afiq said he is no longer driven by the size of the role.
Whether cast as a lead or supporting character, he hopes to participate in productions featuring strong storytelling and characters that allow him to further develop his acting abilities.
In addition to acting, the performer said he remains open to working with both local and international brands, particularly those involved in health, fitness and lifestyle campaigns.
Expressing gratitude to supporters, Raja Afiq thanked fans who continued sending messages of encouragement despite his reduced visibility in recent months.
He said their continued support has strengthened his determination to return with new projects and deliver performances that reflect his renewed commitment to the industry.
