Rafizi to Proceed with Lawsuit Against Caprice Over Alleged Defamatory Statements

PETALING JAYA, Feb. 21, 2026 – Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has confirmed that he will continue with legal action against social media influencer Caprice after the latter allegedly failed to issue an apology within the time given.

The Pandan Member of Parliament said the lawsuit relates to content published by Caprice that he claims implied he had vested interests in Invoke Solutions Sdn. Bhd., a company linked to him.

Indirect statements may still qualify as defamation

Rafizi said statements framed as questions or insinuations could still be considered defamatory under the law.

He explained that courts may take into account implied meanings and innuendo when determining whether defamation has occurred.

He shared these views during a recent episode of his podcast Yang Berhenti Menteri.

Rafizi said he believes he has strong grounds to pursue the lawsuit based on available evidence.

Dispute follows social media controversy

The legal dispute follows an exchange between the two parties over allegations linked to a contract issue.

Caprice had previously called on Rafizi to remove certain posts and issue an apology or face legal consequences.

However, Caprice, whose real name is Ariz Ramli, has denied making specific corruption allegations or mentioning the figures referenced.

Rafizi denies wrongdoing and conflict of interest

Rafizi rejected claims that he had engaged in corruption or had improper business interests.

He said any investigations would show that he had not committed any wrongdoing.

He also clarified that his connection with certain business figures was purely professional and related to services provided by Invoke Solutions.

He added that company records indicated the financial arrangement involved preference shares structured as loans, not ownership stakes.

Legal action aimed at defending reputation

Rafizi said he intends to defend his reputation through legal channels.

He also suggested the controversy may be an attempt to divert attention from other public issues.

The case is expected to attract significant public interest due to the high-profile individuals involved.
