Mother of Trooper Indiran Appeals for Public to Stop Speculation
Says No Evidence of Abuse Found
GEORGE TOWN, Feb. 21, 2026 – The mother of Trooper K. Indiran has urged the public to refrain from making unverified claims regarding her son’s death, emphasizing that medical findings showed no signs of physical abuse.
S. Usha, 52, said the postmortem examination confirmed that her son had not suffered any physical injuries.
She said the findings contradict claims suggesting he was subjected to bullying or violence during military training.
Family awaiting final investigation outcome
Usha said the family is currently waiting for the outcome of ongoing investigations to determine the exact cause of death.
She explained that the process could take several months due to further medical and internal examinations.
She added that the family was deeply saddened by the sudden loss but has accepted the situation.
Indiran, the eldest of four siblings, was reportedly in good health prior to his passing.
Military training described as demanding but necessary
According to Usha, her son had previously described military training as physically demanding but essential for building endurance.
She stressed that such training should not be mistaken for mistreatment.
She also recalled that her late husband had undergone similar training during his military service.
Second loss for the family
The death of Indiran marks another tragic loss for the family, as his father had died in a military aircraft crash in 2016.
Despite the tragedy, Usha said she would continue to support her children if they chose to serve in the armed forces.
She expressed pride in those who dedicate their lives to national service.
Final rites held for fallen soldier
Indiran’s body was brought home for final respects before being laid to rest in Penang.
Family members and relatives gathered to pay their last respects.
The 22-year-old soldier had been undergoing training in Kuantan before he was found unconscious and later died in hospital.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
