OIC and Muslim Nations Urge Firm Action Over Israel’s Ceasefire Violations in Gaza
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1, 2026 — The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned Israel’s alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, describing the latest attacks as a serious threat to international peace efforts.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the OIC expressed grave concern over recent bombardments in several parts of the Gaza Strip, which reportedly killed at least 31 civilians and injured dozens more.
The organisation said the attacks represented a dangerous escalation and a clear breach of the ceasefire arrangement, undermining efforts to stabilise security conditions and implement the second phase of the peace agreement.
“OIC holds Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for the humanitarian consequences of these acts,” the statement said.
It also called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take stronger measures to ensure Israel’s compliance with its commitments and relevant UN resolutions.
The OIC stressed the urgent need to open all border crossings to allow unhindered humanitarian assistance, facilitate the withdrawal of Israeli forces, and accelerate early recovery and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
The organisation reiterated its support for a two-state solution as the foundation for a just and lasting peace in the region.
Meanwhile, foreign ministers from Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar issued a joint statement condemning Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations.
They said the ongoing attacks had resulted in more than a thousand Palestinian casualties, further worsening the humanitarian crisis in the territory.
The ministers warned that continued violations could derail peace initiatives linked to former US President Donald Trump and weaken prospects for long-term stability.
They urged all parties to exercise restraint, uphold their responsibilities, and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.
The statement also emphasised the importance of creating favourable conditions for Gaza’s recovery and reconstruction, while advancing a comprehensive peace based on Palestinians’ right to self-determination and statehood under international law.
