Nadia Anuar rejects claims daughter caused domestic helpers to quit
KUALA LUMPUR: Television host Nadia Anuar has expressed frustration after her daughter, Dya Nyla, was allegedly blamed for the resignation of three domestic helpers due to claims that they were unable to cope with the child’s behaviour.
Nadia described the allegation as unreasonable and said she has decided to bring her daughter to live with her so she can personally take care of and guide her.
“I have decided that I will bring my child to move in with me.
“It is shocking that a nine-year-old child is being blamed for allegedly being stubborn, refusing to shower, sometimes resisting when asked to brush her teeth, and being difficult to wake up for school, causing three helpers to quit,” she wrote on Threads.
Nadia questioned the claims, pointing out that her daughter is still young and that the situation only emerged within the past few months.
She said she found it difficult to accept that her daughter was suddenly portrayed as the cause of problems, especially after changes occurred in her former husband’s personal life.
“She is only nine years old, and this happened within a period of two to three months.
“Previously, one domestic helper stayed with us for nine years without any issues.
“But after a remarriage and the previous helper was asked to leave, suddenly my child became the reason for everything?” she said.
Nadia said she would rather take responsibility for raising her daughter herself rather than allow her child to be blamed unfairly.
“Since my child is considered not good enough, then let her come back to me. I will take care of and educate my own child. You can have a new child who is better,” she wrote.
The comments came after allegations surfaced regarding difficulties involving the child’s behaviour and domestic helpers, which Nadia strongly rejected.
Nadia previously married Sulaiman @ Mohd Helmi Mohd Ilyasdi, but the marriage ended in divorce in October 2010.
She later married Hafiz Salleh in November 2015, and the couple were blessed with a daughter, Dya Naylaa, who is now eight years old.
However, the marriage also ended in divorce about four years ago.
Nadia’s statement highlighted her determination to protect her daughter while ensuring that parenting responsibilities remain focused on understanding, guidance and support rather than placing blame on a child.
