LTAT Foundation Celebrates 84 Military Orphans With Ramadan Iftar and Education Support

KUALA LUMPUR – The LTAT Foundation organised a special Ramadan iftar gathering to honour 84 students from the Armed Forces Tahfiz School and Orphanage (STAY ATM), highlighting its commitment to supporting the welfare and education of children from Malaysian Armed Forces families.

The event served as a meaningful platform to bring together government representatives, corporate partners and community stakeholders who share a common goal of improving the well-being and educational opportunities for these students.

According to the LTAT Foundation, the programme was held as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at empowering the younger generation within the military community through education and welfare programmes.

Through the event, several organisations contributed financial assistance and resources to strengthen the educational environment and provide better support for the students.

Corporate Contributions Support Educational Initiatives

Among the contributions presented during the event was a CSR donation of RM21,000 from Desatera Sdn. Bhd., delivered by its director Brigadier General (Retired) Baharudin Che Din to representatives of STAY ATM.

The LTAT Foundation also allocated an additional RM10,000 as part of its education-focused CSR initiative to further enhance learning opportunities for the students.

The contribution was handed over by the foundation’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Mohd Nizar Haji Sudin.

Additional support was provided by IRAT Hotel & Resort, which contributed RM73,200 through LTAT Senior Director of Property Zairuddin Zainal.

The funds will be utilised to support student welfare programmes, educational activities and development initiatives designed to improve the learning experience for the students.

Encouraging a Culture of Reading and Knowledge

To further encourage intellectual development, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) contributed a collection of educational reading materials to the students of STAY ATM.

The contribution was presented by DBP Magazine Division Chief Editor Dr Rosmani Omar.

The donated books are intended to promote a culture of reading while broadening the students’ knowledge beyond their religious studies.

Such initiatives aim to develop well-rounded individuals who possess both strong academic understanding and deep religious values.

Festive Gifts for Students

The event also featured the distribution of duit raya and Hari Raya clothing to the students.

These festive gifts were made possible through collaboration between the LTAT Foundation and Sun Life Malaysia Takaful Berhad.

The initiative aimed to bring joy to the students as they prepare to celebrate Aidilfitri while ensuring they feel supported and appreciated by the wider community.

Attendance of National Leaders

The Ramadan iftar ceremony was attended by several prominent leaders including Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari.

Also present were Ministry of Defence Secretary-General Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, LTAT Chairman General Tan Sri Datuk Seri Azizan Ariffin RMAF (Retired), and Malaysian Takaful Association Chief Executive Officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed.

Assistant Chief of Staff for Personnel Services Major General Datuk Indera Zahari Mohd Ariffin was also among the attendees.

The presence of government officials and corporate partners highlighted a shared commitment to ensuring that children from Malaysian Armed Forces families continue to receive strong support in their educational journey.
