Johor Polls: Parti Wawasan to Announce Candidates and Seat Allocation Soon

JOHOR BAHRU: Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) is expected to announce its list of candidates and the number of seats it plans to contest in the upcoming Johor state election in the near future as preparations for the polls gather pace.

Johor Reset Movement coordinator Datuk Zulkifli Bujang said the party is currently finalising its internal preparations while also exploring political cooperation with other parties ahead of the state election.

According to him, discussions on seat distribution and potential alliances are progressing, and an official announcement will be made once all arrangements have been concluded.

“The announcement on our candidates and the number of seats we intend to contest will be made very soon.

“We want to ensure that every decision we make reflects the interests of the people and contributes to Johor’s future development,” he said in a statement.

Zulkifli also expressed his readiness to transform all 26 divisions of the Johor Reset Movement into Parti Wawasan Negara branches.

He said the move is aimed at ensuring that the reform agenda championed by the movement can continue through a structured political platform capable of translating ideas into policies and practical solutions.

“The Johor Reset Movement was established with the aspiration of bringing meaningful change.

“However, such change cannot be achieved effectively without a legitimate political platform that is organised, strategic and capable of implementing reforms,” he said.

Zulkifli stressed that Wawasan was not created merely to add another political party to Malaysia’s landscape.

Instead, he described it as a continuation of the reform agenda previously championed by the Johor Reset Movement, with the objective of introducing new ideas and a fresh political culture.

“Wawasan is the continuation of the Reset movement.

“We want to correct weaknesses within the current system and build a new national consensus capable of uniting Malaysians from all backgrounds,” he said.

He added that Malaysians are increasingly looking for political alternatives that prioritise solutions to everyday issues rather than focusing solely on political rivalry.

According to him, Wawasan intends to champion policies related to cost of living, employment opportunities, education and inclusive economic growth.

Zulkifli believes Johor possesses tremendous potential to continue growing as one of Malaysia’s most dynamic states if development policies are implemented fairly and effectively.

“Politics should serve as a mechanism to solve the people’s problems, not merely a struggle for power.

“That is the spirit we hope to bring through Wawasan,” he said.

The upcoming Johor state election is expected to be closely watched as several major political coalitions and emerging parties prepare to battle for influence in one of Malaysia’s most economically important states.

Wawasan’s announcement regarding its candidates and seat allocation is likely to attract considerable attention as the election campaign gathers momentum.
