High Compliance Among Ramadan Bazaar Traders on Price Display Rules, Says Domestic Trade Ministry
PUTRAJAYA, Feb. 21, 2026 – Compliance among Ramadan bazaar traders in displaying price tags has reached a highly satisfactory level, according to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
Enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said most traders have followed the regulations.
He said this helps consumers make informed purchasing decisions.
However, he stressed that strict action will be taken against those who fail to comply.
Continuous monitoring to ensure compliance
KPDN enforcement officers will continue inspections nationwide.
This is to ensure traders follow the rules.
Action can be taken under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act.
Awareness efforts contributed to high compliance
Azman said early advocacy efforts helped improve compliance.
Traders were briefed before Ramadan.
Enforcement presence also encouraged compliance.
Very few violations recorded
Data from Ops Pantau 2025 showed high compliance.
Over 23,000 premises were inspected.
Only one case involving Ramadan bazaars was recorded.
Consumers benefit from transparent pricing
Surveys found traders displayed price tags clearly.
This allows customers to compare prices.
KPDN said monitoring will continue.
