CMEF 2026 Concludes, Highlighting the Future of Healthcare Innovation and Global Competition
SHANGHAI, May 1 — The 93rd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF 2026) has concluded in Shanghai, showcasing the evolving future of the global healthcare industry driven by innovation, technological integration and rising international competition.
Held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, the four-day event themed “Innovation Fusion, Boundless Evolution” brought together more than 300,000 participants from over 150 countries and regions, underlining its global reach and influence.
Participation from companies across more than 20 countries, including the United States, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Russia and Malaysia, highlighted the diversity of innovations and the growing competitiveness in the medical technology sector.
Thousands of new products and solutions were unveiled across the entire healthcare value chain, from research and development to clinical and commercial applications, reflecting a shift toward more practical, scalable and high-impact technologies.
The CMEF MEDCONGRESS served as a key pillar of the event, featuring over 100 forums addressing critical developments in global healthcare.
Key discussions centred on artificial intelligence, brain-computer interface technologies, the challenges of ageing populations, and the evolution of regulatory frameworks.
Meanwhile, WeTalk and WeTour sessions strengthened international collaboration by focusing on major markets such as Russia, Brazil and ASEAN, while opening new opportunities for cross-border partnerships.
The ASEAN-focused forum and the GHWP Innovative Medical Device Symposium further underscored Southeast Asia’s growing importance as a key growth region in the healthcare sector.
Among the standout innovations were ultra-high-definition CT scanners, next-generation surgical robots and advanced invasive brain-computer interface technologies, reflecting the rapid convergence of medical science and digital technology.
With its conclusion, CMEF continues to position itself not only as a platform for showcasing innovation, but as a driving force shaping the future direction of the global healthcare industry.
