
BN leads in Jementah as unofficial vote count continues
SEGAMAT: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate See Ann Giap has taken an early lead in the unofficial vote count for the Jementah state seat as counting continues in the Johor state election.
As of 8.15pm, See had secured 5,320 votes, ahead of Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Ng Kor Sim, who polled 4,280 votes, while Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Saifullah Abdul Wahab received 1,277 votes.
Based on the unofficial tally, BN accounted for 48.91 per cent of the votes counted so far, followed by PH with 39.35 per cent and PN with 11.74 per cent.
A total of 10,877 ballots had been counted at the time the figures were compiled.
The Jementah contest features a three-cornered fight between BN’s See Ann Giap, PH’s Ng Kor Sim and PN’s Saifullah Abdul Wahab.
The constituency has 41,137 registered voters eligible to cast their ballots in the 16th Johor State Election.
The figures remain unofficial and are subject to change pending the completion of vote counting and the official announcement of results by the Election Commission (EC).
