Ahmad Zahid Hamidi visits Chinese foster family in Bagan Datuk to mark festive tradition

BAGAN DATUK, Feb 18 — Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi continued his annual tradition of visiting his Chinese foster family in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration here today.

He spent time with the family of Beh Song Wan, fondly known as Bujang, during a Chinese New Year gathering held at the Dato’ Haji Abdullah Ahmad Multipurpose Hall in Hutan Melintang.

Ahmad Zahid said visiting the family during the festive season has become a meaningful tradition that he looks forward to each year.

He noted that the long-standing relationship reflects a sincere and close family bond built over time.

According to him, the gathering was also attended by local leaders and friends, adding to the festive atmosphere.

“As always, the celebration was filled with warmth, laughter and meaningful conversations that strengthened our ties,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to the host family for their consistent hospitality and warm welcome.

Ahmad Zahid added that such traditions reflect Malaysia’s spirit of unity and mutual respect among different communities.

He expressed hope that the relationship would continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
