
Melix Enters 108 Guardian Stores, Marking Milestone for Local Haircare Brand
Kuala Lumpur — Malaysian haircare label Melix has achieved a significant retail breakthrough with its products now available in 108 outlets of Guardian Malaysia nationwide.
Guardian Malaysia’s Commercial Director, Tiffany Choo, described the expansion as a strong endorsement of locally developed innovations within a competitive market often led by international brands.
She said Melix distinguishes itself by offering targeted solutions for common scalp and hair concerns, including hair thinning, dandruff, and sensitivity, while maintaining a high standard of care and precision.
According to her, the brand’s growth reflects a wider change in consumer behaviour, where more individuals are seeking tailored and results-driven personal care products.
Melix has spent over a decade refining its formulations to meet the specific needs of Asian hair and scalp conditions. Its focus on consistency, gentle daily application, and visible results has helped build strong brand loyalty and repeat purchases among users.
All products are produced locally, with careful consideration given to safety, long-term scalp health, and compatibility with Malaysia’s humid environment.
The brand has also been steadily expanding beyond Malaysia, establishing a presence in regional markets such as Singapore, China, Taiwan, Australia, and the Philippines.
Founder Joanne Ng said continuous innovation remains a key priority, particularly through Melix Lab, the brand’s science-focused division.
She highlighted the introduction of PRIME 01: SoftPrep Scalp Priming Essence, which promotes a pre-shampoo exfoliation routine designed to prepare the scalp before cleansing. The concept aims to reshape conventional haircare habits by emphasising the importance of scalp preparation.
The product, formulated with AHA and PHA, has been recognised by Asia Records as the first dermatologically tested dual-layer scalp purification treatment. Joanne described the recognition as a landmark achievement that reinforces the brand’s contribution to innovation in the regional haircare sector.
