Yarbo Expands Open Robotics Platform, Enabling Smarter Integration and Limitless Innovation

Turning yard robots into open, expandable systems

NEW YORK: Yarbo has unveiled its plan for the Yarbo Open Platform, a strategic move to transform its yard robots into flexible, open systems that can be expanded by users and developers.

Set for release in early 2027, the platform aims to combine software integration and hardware expansion, allowing the system to evolve based on user needs.

The announcement comes alongside the launch of the Smart Assist Module (SAM) for the M Series on Kickstarter.

Three-layer architecture simplifies automation

The platform introduces a three-layer system designed for both everyday users and developers.

It includes an Open API for external integrations, an SDK for building custom features, and an Automation Editor that enables users to create workflows through a visual interface without coding.

It also integrates with major smart home ecosystems such as Home Assistant, Google Home and Amazon Alexa.

CoreBridge unlocks hardware expansion

Yarbo’s CoreBridge introduces a standardized hardware interface that enables modular expansion.

This allows developers and users to create new attachments, including electromagnet-based modules capable of moving objects like garbage bins automatically.

The approach significantly broadens the robot’s potential applications.

Smart Assist Module enhances daily usability

The Smart Assist Module (SAM) adds practical features such as “Follow Me” mode for carrying tools and “Patrol” mode for automated monitoring.

Additional features like live view, app alerts and audio notifications further improve usability and convenience.

A future shaped by open innovation

With its Open Platform strategy, Yarbo aims to build a more dynamic, user-driven robotics ecosystem.

Supporting both Y and M Series, the platform is expected to drive continuous innovation and customization.

More details will be revealed as the platform approaches its 2027 launch.
