
Palestinian Envoy Expresses Gratitude to Malaysia for Continued Support and Humanitarian Efforts
KUALA LUMPUR, — The Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Jehad Fouad Alqdra, has expressed his appreciation to the Malaysian government and its people for their unwavering support towards the Palestinian cause, particularly in light of the ongoing situation in Gaza.
The message of gratitude was conveyed during a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan at Wisma Putra, where both parties also discussed current developments in the Middle East.
Mohamad Hasan said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the evolving situation in Gaza and broader geopolitical dynamics in the region.
“We discussed the latest developments in Gaza as well as ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East,” he said in a social media post.
Acknowledging Malaysia’s Role on the Global Stage
During the meeting, Alqdra acknowledged Malaysia’s consistent stance in advocating for Palestinian rights at the international level.
He highlighted the country’s active role in providing humanitarian assistance and raising awareness about the Palestinian struggle through diplomatic channels.
The ambassador also recognised the strong support shown by Malaysians, which continues to reinforce efforts to address humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians.
Focus on Humanitarian Assistance
Malaysia remains committed to delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, where the population continues to face significant challenges.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently announced that Egypt has agreed to facilitate the delivery of 374 tonnes of Malaysian aid through the Rafah border crossing.
This initiative is seen as a crucial step in ensuring that assistance reaches those in need despite ongoing difficulties in the region.
Broader Discussions on Regional Stability
In addition to the Palestinian issue, the meeting also touched on wider geopolitical developments in the Middle East.
Mohamad Hasan reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to supporting efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability through diplomatic engagement and international cooperation.
“Malaysia will continue to support initiatives that contribute to lasting peace in the region,” he said.

The meeting also underscored the strong and longstanding relationship between Malaysia and Palestine.
