Education Ministry Satisfied with Progress of MADANI Adopted Village Projects in Pengkalan Hulu

GERIK – Malaysia’s Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia has expressed satisfaction with the progress of several community development projects carried out in Kampung Kuak Hulu, Pengkalan Hulu under the MADANI Adopted Village programme.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said a number of infrastructure improvements planned for the village have been successfully completed and are now benefiting the local community.

Among the completed projects are the construction of an open hall at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuak Hulu costing RM149,500, as well as the upgrading of a futsal court with an allocation of RM200,000.

She noted that these initiatives form part of broader government efforts to improve public facilities in rural areas while enhancing the wellbeing of residents.

“In Kampung Kuak Hulu alone, several projects that directly benefit the community have already been completed.

“These include the construction of the school’s open hall and the upgrading of the futsal court, as well as improvements to slopes, bridges and other infrastructure used by residents,” she said.

Fadhlina made the remarks when speaking to reporters during the MADANI Ramadan breaking-of-fast event held at the school.

22 Projects Completed So Far

As of this month, a total of 22 development projects under the MADANI Adopted Village programme in Kampung Kuak Hulu have been completed.

These projects are part of a larger initiative involving 32 community improvement works carried out by various government agencies.

The programme is coordinated by the Unit Penyelarasan Pelaksanaan Jabatan Perdana Menteri together with several other government departments, with a total allocation exceeding RM20 million.

The initiative aims to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve the quality of life for residents in the area.

New Facilities Benefit Students and Residents

Fadhlina highlighted that the newly constructed open hall at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kuak Hulu plays an important role for both students and the surrounding community.

The facility enables students to carry out school assemblies, educational programmes and co-curricular activities more effectively without being affected by weather conditions.

At the same time, the open hall can also serve as a venue for community events and local activities.

The upgraded futsal court is another important addition, especially for youths and residents who regularly use the facility.

The court had been in use for nearly 18 years before the upgrade was carried out to improve safety and usability.

MADANI Adopted Village Programme Strengthens Community Development

The MADANI Adopted Village initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to accelerate development in selected communities through the direct involvement of ministries and government agencies.

Under the programme, ministries not only contribute to physical infrastructure improvements but also support social and community development initiatives.

Fadhlina said the successful implementation of projects in Kampung Kuak Hulu demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between the government and local communities in improving public welfare.

She added that development programmes designed around the real needs of residents are more likely to deliver meaningful and lasting benefits to the community.
